Mary Christina Aguilera (born December 18, 1980) is an American R & B / singer / songwriter. She was signed to RCA Records after recording "Reflection" from the film Mulan. Entered in importance after their debut album Christina Aguilera (1999), which was a commercial success. A Latin pop album, Mi Reflejo, and several collaborations followed which won Aguilera success worldwide, but she was not satisfied with the lack of input in her music and image.
After separating from her management, Aguilera took creative control over her second studio album Stripped (2002), which received mixed reviews and substantial sales volume. The second single, "Beautiful" was a commercial success and sustained sales of the album, the controversy over Aguilera's sexual image. Aguilera's third album "Back to Basics (2006), contained elements of soul, jazz and blues, and was released to positive critical reception.
